Her signature SCHOOL Kids Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Training is praised by public school teachers as effective calming methods for both teachers and students - creating more positive classroom settings. Plus, the SCHOOL Training is proved to be a way of helping teachers develop professionalism. In 15 years of teaching, Kelly has accumulated more than 25,000 hours working with adults and children.

The SCHOOL Story

Kelly’s commitment to nurturing positive social, emotional, and academic development in young children culminated in the creation of SCHOOL, Inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Kelly has taught more than 225,000 children and 400 public school staff in Los Angeles Unified and Pasadena Unified School Districts since 2002, and has recently released an online yoga training course, bringing SCHOOL Yoga Training to teachers and youth everywhere. With her calm determination, Kelly Wood is giving children an opportunity and clear directions for learning how to walk the many paths of their school life with an open calm heart. Equally as important to Kelly, the SCHOOL Kids Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Training is offered to support and empower teachers in their humbling pursuit to educate our youth in the midst of growing distraction and fast-paced technology. SCHOOL methods contribute to academic achievement by helping kids regulate emotions.

An Entrepreneurial Mindset

Kelly has taught yoga and meditation in studios, private homes, corporate offices, international venues, and public and private schools. Having opened Karuna Yoga studio in Los Angeles in 2002, Kelly has extensive experience as a business owner—growing a successful studio from the ground up and directing all aspects of business and staff. Today, in addition to heading up SCHOOL, Inc., she runs an innovative online yoga teaching platform that offers recorded and live-streaming yoga classes and trainings. Kelly has designed and facilitates specialized training courses including the Karuna Yoga 200-Hour Teacher Training and Hi Yoga (Kids Yoga) 95-Hour Teacher Training, both accredited by Yoga Alliance.
