WELCOME & THANK YOU!
Welcome to the SCHOOL Yoga Library! We are excited to have you with us on this journey toward more peaceful learning together. Both students and teachers will benefit from our secular yoga mindfulness practices when practiced consistently within the bell schedule.
Thank you for joining us!
BEFORE YOU BEGIN:
🌟 The SCHOOL Yoga Library is organized in shelves.
🌟 Please play the lessons in order.
🌟 One FULL lesson is practiced per week.
🌟 The corresponding FOLLOW-UP lesson is practiced at least one additional day that same week.
🌟 Schedule a day and time for these lessons each week.
🌟 Stay consistent to build SEL skills and peaceful learners.
To ensure the SCHOOL Yoga Library lessons benefit your classroom:
🍎 Please practice with your students.
🍎 Teachers can sit on the ground or in a chair.
🍎 When students see you practicing, it sends a message for students to engage.
🍎 Remind students to sit nice and tall throughout the lessons.
🍎 Ms. Kelly encourages sitting nice and tall in the recordings, but students need additional reminders from their teacher. 😊
🍎 Make sure that everyone is doing the same thing (free-styling does not work here!).
🍎 Check that everyone is breathing in and out through the nose (no mouth breathing, no exhales with mouth).
🍎 Encourage gentle Calm Breathing (not deep breathing with effort).
It will take at least four weeks to get the group into the habit and routine. That means a bit more managing of the group in the beginning. An example of a weekly schedule is Tuesdays 8:30 am for a full lesson and Thursdays 8:30 am for the follow-up lesson.
